Plot

Starting over is never easy. Starting over and being a celebrity country star, Skylar Stone, has even more hurdles to jump through. With the help of the local Cowboy/ small town horse wrangler/ perpetual bachelor/ and single dad, Weston, Skylar’s world is going to be turned upside down.

Weston is a gem of a man. Being a single dad, West doesn’t bring any women into his orbit. He may give out his cheeky smiles easily, but giving out his heart and his trust is no easy feat. Through bear encounters, talking to his children, and showing up without being asked, Skylar is starting to tear West’s walls down.

Now, Skylar is the complete opposite from West. Thrown into stardom at a young age, all she knows is how to live in the spotlight, please those around her, and put on a persona of a happy and perfect star. After going through a troubling experience, Skylar doens’t know who she is or who she can trust. That is until West comes along and shows Skylar that the persona she puts on for everyone else doesn’t need to be who she shows the world.

It is time for Skylar to take her life back, and West is going to be the person who helps her do it.

Review

Elsie Silver is the Queen of small town romance novels. She has such a way of drawing you in to the characrters, making them relatable, and giving them time to develop and allow their relationships to grow at a natural pace.

There is nothing worse than a book that you can’t relate to, or just seems so far fetched the characters don’t bring you joy. Of course this is a book, a fictional one at that. So are some of the themes and actions not logical? Absolutely. However, it’s how the author conveys those messages and lets the reader enjoy the story that really make it worth reading.

Another part of this book I enjoyed were the characters. Sometimes I felt like Skylar was a bit whiny and tended to run rather than face her fears. But, I felt she had such a strong character development that it made her a stronger character by the end. Whereas West was perfect. He was compassionate, loyal, and having a man who is his woman’s number 1 fan is such a pleasure to read.

So, thank you Elsie Silver for writing such a compelling and beautiful story for us readers to enjoy! If you have not read this yet, please make sure to check it out or get for Free on Kindle Unlimited!
